MASTERS OF THE RING – 5 JULY 2026
With no fewer than 60 bouts on the fight card, the ‘Bazen van de Ring’ event promised a day full of action, excitement and talent. From youth bouts to high-calibre C and B-class matches, the audience was treated to an impressive series of fights.
Amiel Burleson wins the B-Class Four-Man Tournament
In the men’s B-class four-man tournament, the semi-finals saw Amiel Burleson take on Alahji and Chukwuemeka Igwala face Thierno Odili. Both winners progressed to a thrilling final.

In the final, Amiel Burleson and Chukwuemeka Igwala went head to head. Both fighters started strongly, but Burleson gradually managed to seize the initiative. In the second round, his pressure proved too much for Igwala and the referee stopped the fight. Amiel Burleson won the tournament by TKO in the second round and can rightly call himself the deserved winner of the B-class tournament.

Romaissa Kerssens secures victory after a spectacular women’s match
The C-class also provided plenty of excitement. One of the most notable matches of the evening was undoubtedly Romaissa Kerssens vs Demi Chin.

From the opening bell, both women went on the offensive. For three rounds, the spectators were treated to a bout in which neither fighter gave an inch. The bout remained thrilling right up to the very last second and was decided by character, fitness and willpower. After an intense battle, victory ultimately went to Romaissa Kerssens, who made an excellent impression with her strong performance.

Yosef Agiah and Michael Landford put on a high-calibre contest
Another bout that caught the eye was the B-class clash between Yosef Agiah and Michael Landford. Both fighters demonstrated why they are among the most talented in their class.

The fight was characterised by a fast pace, powerful combinations and plenty of fighting spirit. Both Agiah and Landford constantly sought to attack, making for an entertaining bout for the crowd. This match proved that both men have a great deal of potential.

Talents to watch out for
Bazen van de Ring once again demonstrated just how much talent there is within Dutch and Belgian combat sports. With strong performances from, amongst others, Amiel Burleson, Chukwuemeka Igwala, Romaissa Kerssens, Demi Chin, Yosef Agiah and Michael Landford, these are undoubtedly names to keep a close eye on in the coming years.
