ROAD TO LEGEND JAPAN, NAGOYA, 18 OKTOBER 2025: Max Weekers VS Fufan Bo
A kickboxing match that was part of the ‘Road to Legend’ event took place in Nagoya, Japan on Oct. 18, 2025. The main event of the evening consisted of a Max Weekers VS Fufan Bo. Expectations were high, but the bout itself ultimately turned out to be less spectacular than hoped for.
The match was scheduled over three rounds. During these rounds, it was mainly Fufan Bo who applied the pressure. He constantly tried to get to the front and take the initiative in the attack. Max Weekers, on the other hand, opted more often for a defensive strategy and mainly fought backwards. This resulted in a dynamic where Fufan sought the attack, while Max tried to fend off and counter attacks.
Although Max Weekers occasionally came up with a combination of punches and kicks, he did not really manage to turn the match to his advantage. His attacks, while accurate, lacked the power and frequency to really trouble Fufan Bo. The fight remained largely a traditional kickboxing match, with lots of leg work and keeping distance.
In the end, it was a close call. The judges had to decide who deserved the win, and after careful review of the three rounds, they designated Max Weekers as the winner. It was a narrow victory, however, and many felt that the race had been evenly matched. Max Weekers was narrowly able to take the win, but at the same time showed that he still has a long way to go to achieve true “legend” status.
