Aimane Latifi Retains Title After a Brutal Five-Round Battle

At the WFL event on 27 June 2026 in Utrecht, Aimane Latifi faced Kevin van Heeckeren in a title fight.

For five rounds, both fighters went on the offensive with everything they had. Kevin van Heeckeren displayed an impressive fighting spirit and, despite a serious eye injury, continued to battle until the very last second. His perseverance earned him great respect from the crowd.

Ultimately, however, it was Aimane Latifi who was declared the winner after five gruelling rounds and successfully claimed the title.

Afterwards, Knockoutnieuws spoke to the champion, who looked back on an incredibly tough bout against a particularly tenacious opponent.

A championship-winning performance from Latifi and a fight that perfectly demonstrated what combat sport is all about: character, perseverance and respect.
