Interview: Luc Verheye looks ahead with his team and new gym

Renowned kickboxing trainer Luc Verheye is on the eve of a new phase in his career. With talented fighters like Vincent Stokkerman, Diablo Scheffers, Branco Verheye and Adelin Ognyanov, he is building on a strong future. In addition, the ball is also in the court regarding a new gym, a project Verheye has been looking forward to for quite some time.

Branco Verheye

A strong generation of fighters

During an interview, Luc Verheye looked ahead to the development of his team. According to the experienced trainer, he has a group of young and motivated fighters who can play an important role in the national and international kickboxing world in the coming years. “

Vincent Stokkerman is a hard worker who wants to get better every training session. Diablo Scheffers has a tremendous fighting spirit and continues to develop technically. Branco Verheye is growing as a fighter as well as a person and shows he is ready to take on bigger challenges. Adelin Ognyanov, on the other hand, has a lot of talent and potential. It is up to them to take that next step,” Verheye said.

The coach stresses that talent alone is not enough. Discipline, perseverance and respect, he says, remain the main pillars for success in the ring.

New gym opens new possibilities

Besides the sporting ambitions, there is also big news outside the ring. Plans for a new gym have been finalised and Verheye is enthusiastically looking to the future. The new accommodation should not only become a training centre for competition fighters, but also a place where recreational fighters, youngsters and beginners can go to get acquainted with kickboxing.

Verheye sees the new gym as an important step to pass on his years of experience to the next generation. The trainer, who has been active in the sport for decades and coached several world champions, wants to create an environment where athletes can develop both physically and mentally.

More than just making champions

For Luc Verheye, kickboxing is not exclusively about titles and victories. According to him, the sport teaches young people discipline, respect and self-confidence. These are values he also wants to put at the heart of his new gym.

“I don’t just want to make champions, but above all form good people. If athletes step out of here stronger than they came in, then my mission has been accomplished.”

So with a talented squad of fighters, international ambitions and a new gym on the horizon, the future for Team Verheye seems particularly promising. The next few months will show what steps Vincent Stokkerman, Diablo Scheffers, Branco Verheye and Adelin Ognyanov can make, but one thing is certain: under Luc Verheye’s guidance, the next generation of champions is being built in full force.
