The annual house gala ZERO45, a true spectacle organized in Heerlen, took place on Oct. 19, 2025.
The venue was buzzing with energy, with an enthusiastic audience eagerly awaiting the promised action-packed evening. What followed exceeded all expectations: a program with no less than 28 breathtaking fights.
The evening began with a series of 11 youth fights, in which young talents took their first steps into the martial arts world and demonstrated their skills. Then the N class fighters entered the ring, with 8 exciting matches that laid the foundation for the rest of the evening. The intensity rose as the 2 C-class fights erupted, in which fighters showed they were ready for the next step in their careers.
The highlight of the evening was undoubtedly the series of 7 MMA fights, in which fighters demonstrated their all-round skills. The matchmaker had once again done a fantastic job, with a perfect balance of challenge and competition. Each of the fights was exciting and brought the audience to their seats.
One of the most memorable moments of the evening was the C-class women’s fight. The two fighters were so evenly matched that the judges were unable to declare a winner afterwards. The equality and fighting spirit they showed were rewarded by the audience with loud applause.
The MMA fights also produced some spectacular finishes. In one fight, a fighter deployed a scissor strangulation that lasted as long as 15 to 20 seconds, testing his opponent’s resilience. In another fight, a fighter was forced to give up in the second round due to a leglock, resulting in a victory for his opponent.
The professional judges of the WPKL played a crucial role in making the fights fair and correct. Their expertise and objectivity ensured that all decisions were fair and maintained the integrity of the sport. All in all, the house gala ZERO45 in Heerlen was a great success, an evening full of excitement, spectacle and sportsmanship .
