De Brabantse kickbokser Tayfun Özcan domineerde tijdens een bijzondere gevechtwedstrijd in China en kreeg hierdoor een boost in zelfvertrouwen.
Özcan, die normaal voor de organisatie Glory vecht, kreeg een uitnodiging om mee te doen aan een evenement van de grote Aziatische vechtsportorganisatie WFL. Na drie rondes waarin hij de overhand had, werd Özcan unaniem uitgeroepen tot winnaar. Deze overwinning was belangrijk voor hem, aangezien hij niet lang geleden zijn tweede partij voor Glory had verloren.
Özcan, een kickbokskampioen uit Tilburg, vocht zaterdag tegen een Chinese tegenstander en werd unaniem als winnaar gekozen. Ondanks dat hij het gevecht niet met een knock-out kon beëindigen, voelt hij zich gesterkt door het feit dat hij de drie rondes kon domineren en makkelijk uitvechten. Deze overwinning geeft hem veel zelfvertrouwen en hij is blij dat hij de grote beker mee naar huis kan nemen, ook al moest hij extra bagage regelen.
